Dear Jerry,
Your music has been a major impact on my life. Following your roots from Alice [In Chains] up to your solo career has been very inspiring. There hasn't been one day where I don't listen to your music and it hits me in the heart. The guitar work you display in your music hits me harder than any other musician. I've seen three of your performances and they drove me deeper to listen to your music further. I dedicated two songs of your to a close friend of mine, "Hurt a Long Time" and "Angel Eyes". Every time we hear your music together or when we're alone, we can both feel your heart pouring out.
You and your music keeps me strong through my life. Three of your songs hits me in the head and heart, "Heaven Beside You", "No Excuses" and "Junkhead". I've been through a lot of shit in my life and all of you changed it in many ways. I take my hat off to you and everyone you've played with. My heart went out to you, Mike Inez, Mike Starr, and Sean Kinney when you found out that Layne passed away. All of you kick ass and take names like I've never seen before. "Into the flood again...same old trip it was back then.... so made a big mistake... try to see it once my way!!!!!"
