Dear Mr. Cantrell,

You probably hear every cliché in the book, but I feel compelled to add my fangirl comments to the mix because your music has given me so much. So bear with me while I gush. I just want to thank you profusely for the countless hours of enjoyment your music has given me over the years, solo and with Alice in Chains. Your beautiful haunting harmonies grabbed me from the get-go, and the almost-human voice of your guitar playing made my jaw drop, and it still does. I know it takes a lot to get your art to the masses, having to deal with the underbelly of the music business, and it must rob your soul a little bit. So, thank you, from the bottom of my music-loving heart, for persevering and sharing your incredible gifts. I am eternally grateful for your generosity and talents, and I look forward to your next genius release.

Much love, Kerri (aka Dogstar) Philadelphia

P.S. (Oh, and please come east for a lovely tour as soon as possible. I need a Jerry fix :D. I promise to bring you my locally famous chocolate chip cookies or something. Thanks a bunch :D)

Dearest Jerry,

Let me start by saying that I have loved your music ever since I first heard "Man In the Box". I wanted to write and thank you for all of your beautiful and legendary music that has inspired me throughout my life and which you have given to the world. You have always been my favourite member of AIC and one of my all-time favourite guitarists. AIC could never have achieved their unique sound without your talent. Your distinctive style is absolutely phenomenal. The fact that you are also an amazing songwriter is a testament to your incredible talent, and leaves me in awe of you.

Your solo work is brilliant and outstanding as well, most notably Degradation Trip. I cannot even begin to name all of my favourites of your work, but "Angel Eyes" is a definite stand-out for me. Suffice it to say that I love it all and every time I listen to certain compositions, I hear or notice something different that I have not previously heard, which is a tribute to the depth and complexity of your music. One of my most overwhelming perceptions that permeates all of your performances is your enjoyment at being on stage. I can always see it in your dedication to the performance itself and in your playing.

On a personal note, I think you are, and always have been, one of the handsomest and sexiest men on this planet. One of my lifelong dreams has been to meet you in person, and frankly, I would give everything I own to spend one day with you. I would consider it an honour to be in your presence. You are the epitome of cool, and my passion for you is as deep as the vastest ocean.

Thank you Jerry, for being part of my life and for writing the words and music to some of the greatest music ever recorded.

Love and admiration always,
Cynthia xoxoxox aggbug
