    Re: which acoustic?

There are many great acoustic guitars from many different manufacturers.  My personal favorite would have to be Ovation because those guitars play incredibly well and have very rich tones.  Other companies that are good would be Martin, Taylor, Takamine, and Guild.  I personally own a Guild and it is good, just I believe that Ovation blows away Guild in many ways such as quality, comfort, tone, and playability.  What you should do is head over to a local guitar shop with a large variety of acoustic guitars and try as many as you can that are within your price range.  Don't take anybody's word on a guitar, find out if it suits you.  Sure a ton of people love Martin acoustics and think they sound great so I tried them out and they just weren't for me, however the second I tried a Guild I really liked it.

I'll never get the point of someone wanting the exact tone of another muscian.
