    McChord AFB/Tacoma show...

I called the base and apparently this is only open to the Airlift Rodeo folks. I was told as a retiree I couldn't get in..if anyone has other info about how to get in to this show, please let me know???

Also, any info on the tickets for the Fenix show? I've tried venue, etc., with no luck yet....

Got the Fairhaven and Grants tickets...yay! Freaking YAKIMA??? Who the hell ever goes to Yakima anyway??? No offense to any lurking Yakimanians.

I got my B'Ham tickets today too! Seemed like there was someone here from Yakima, or Naches or Selah who seemed to know a lot about AIC in the early days and some of the other Seattle bands...somebody red sand? can't remember the screen name...I'm sure they'll pop up at that show...

Any advice on a reasonable room in B'Ham? Never been there...but since it's a late show, might just get a room...

    Re: McChord AFB/Tacoma show...

I've been checking cheap(er) hotels, and they're all filling up...there is some kind of festival going on that week...I would book whatever you can find right away. There are several reasonable hotels like Best Westerns, Holiday Inn Express, it's not a huge place but it's right off I-5, so there are a lot of options. I was checking for an odd number of people, so a lot of the rooms were already booked that weekend, but there might be more single/double rooms available.

Also, if you can't find a room with a good rate in Bellingham, try Mount Vernon area....it's only about 45 minutes or so to the south.

    Re: McChord AFB/Tacoma show...

Once again, thanks UIB....might as well head on over to Yakima after the show...

And, CEOJC...isn't there anything you can do to get us devoted boardees into the McChord show....think you might "put in a request" to the powers that be???

*pictures me rockin' out in high-heel patent leathers* ACK!

Hey Sugar, what are they saying regarding guests....ie: if I found someone stationed there for y'all would they be allowed to sign in a dozen or so people?

Not promising anyone, cuz I don't no anyone at McChord offhand, but hubby's active-duty AF, so I'll pick his brains via email :)

Wonder if the camera policy will be better since everyone had to get through the gate first anyway? :)

I had no idea what this was, so I googled it...people are coming from all over to this - great exposure for Cardboard Vamps and Jerry! Also very cool that they are doing this...

There's a list of participating US bases here, Foof: (thought you might know someone at one of them  ) Hope someone who gets to go to this reports back to the board!

I think those participating are the ones competing in the rodeo. I'll have to look into it, cuz we are stationed at one on the list, altho the wing listed is not the one I think hubby will be in when he returns.
My thoughts looking for someone at McChord was that usually to bring a guest, you have to escort them. I highly doubt I'll be heading out there for this one (unless hubby wants to...we usually hit four or five airshows a year and haven't made it to one yet this year :( ) I emailed for details, we'll see if they'll send 'em to a spouse of if it has to be from the serviceperson themselves.

    Re: McChord AFB/Tacoma show...

Yeah, I think with all the VIP guests and extra security lately, it would be pretty hard to have extra guest access available. So, do the airforce people have to wear their dress uniforms/shoes or something? (Wondering about the patent leather)... *tries to picture the CV guys performing in that setting*

    Re: McChord AFB/Tacoma show...

*lol* Doubt it, yer ID's enough to get ya in (or maybe just the hair cut and stance *laughs*) Most of the guys (and gals) I know don't wear their uniforms unless they absolutely have to. Which is quite a shame, since many have bad fashion tastes otherwise *lmao* Just tasing (altho hubby really does need me to dress him *giggles*)

They were pretty clear...private party...just the Airlift Rodeo folks...but it ain't like they're all gonna be carryin' their orders around in their shirt pockets, so really who's to know whose there for what...I'm thinking...and I would for real put on the old uniform, but I don't think I can even get through the gate without an escort, with retired ID...OMG I have a really old active duty ID...lol...I'm sure that would NEVER fly...

Hahahahahaha.....I just dug it out of the firebox...omfg...how funny...15 years ago....what a little hottie...(whoa...big hair!)....

That's ME! YAY! That's all I can say. I'm can't believe this. I get on and check my email after a few days, and what do I see. Jerry Cantrell, my alltime favorite guitarist, and living musician is coming to my broke ass, little, hole in the wall, town. And he is playing a small venue.

I haven't been to Grants, but I know the building that they are now in. There is no way it can hold more then a couple hundred people at capacity. So it will be a really close show.

Oh, and if they presale tickets, I'll probaly end up buying half of them to give to people, just to make sure the show is packed.
