I know this may be a morbid thing to ask, but I have always wanted to know. Does the song"Rain when I Die" ring true? Was it raining in Seattle that sad day?

I remember it raining here a little when I heard the news about Layne's passing.

The same thing happened last year when Eddie Guerrero (a wrestler) passed away and when his tribute shows aired, it rained just for the length of the shows. It was very emotional, I cried my eyes out. God I miss Eddie so much.

it was raining at his funeral, who knows if it was raining when he died. as the song "states". and anyway its not like its a coincidence. when DOESN'T it rain in washington state. that state gets more rain then any otehr state i believe.

odd. very odd. it always seems to rain when someone dies. it rained when layne staley, kurt cobian, and michael hutchence died. weird stuff. whats even weirder is that for the michael hutchence funeral, it was the only day all summer it rained.

This is a interesting question being asked. I have a different one :?: reguarding Layne. Pearl Jam's "Rear View Mirror" , has that song " Off He Goes." It sounds like Eddie is really concerned for a certain friend of his. I could be wrong.....but to me it seems like it could be Layne. Listen to the lyrics. It's a sad song too. I often wonder when I listen to Soundgarden too... They may not call a song Layne, but they could very well be singing about their friend.

Which song by Soundgarden are you talking about? Eddie wrote a song for Layne. It's on Lost Dogs.

I know about the one Eddie wrote after he had heard of Layne's passing. It just seems Eddie he is talking about Layne in the song ," Off he goes." As for the Soundgarden one, listen to " Zero Chance." Both of those songs seem to be speaking out of concern for a friend of theirs in a really tragic situation. My guess is it could be Layne...
