my old tutor had seven chinchilla's in her tiny basement suite. she was obsessed with them to say the least. i don't get it. they seem like exceptionally daft hamster-like animals to me. if i was the sort of girl who'd wear fur i'd be all for a chinchilla coat tho. ;)

Yeah, I noticed that there are some people who go crazy over them and own over a dozen or more. It seems kind of crazy to me; how to you spend time with each animal?

I've had a hamster (and a rabbit) before and the chinchilla is more fun than both. She does all kinds of crazy jumps and will sit on your shoulder (sort of). She is also so soft.
